Greetings Tribe! My name is Celia and I am the owner and Creatrix behind Love, Earth Apothecary! I am a Latina, mother, herbalista, birth keeper, therapist, and fresh cut flower enthusiast!
I am currently living in the wonderland that is the Pacific Northwest, but I am originally a native of New Mexico. The PNW has an abundance of wild plants ally’s, flowers, and trees! So many medicines can and do grow here, and the land is lush with life. Naturally, I am also familiar with the medicines of the enchanted Southwest, where I spent most of my life dwelling in the desert.
Making medicine with plants is empowering. Learning about herbal medicine in this modern society is a rebellious act. It is a form of activism! Taking ownership over one’s health is vitally important to changing the way we approach health care in our modern society. Becoming knowledgeable about plant medicine is just one way that we can reclaim some of our personal power, indigenous lineages, and simultaneously help our communities to heal themselves from the inside out. Wild food and medicine are literally everywhere around us, if only we educate ourselves and take the time to look! The plants want our attention, and they’ve certainly got mine. My wish is that humanity can remember, revive, and revere the wisdom and love of the Earth Mother.
I give thanks to the plant allies, those gentle beings who open their bright green hearts, offer their lives and medicine - a quiet gift of healing. Each sip of tea, each creamy touch upon the skin, is pure love. Love from the plants, love from the hands that made them. I pray as I work. I think. I sing the old songs. I listen for the ancestors - their sweet voices guiding. This is why I choose glass, metal paper for all my packing - never plastic. For something alive, deserves a vessel that honors its spirit.
As for the one-woman show behind-the-scenes, my products flow from my studies of wise woman herbalism, practical need for my own life, ancient remedies and rituals, and my career as a mental health therapist, social worker and Earth activist. Everything is made from the land, with love, by MY two hands! Quality is of the highest priority when it comes to each and every offering and will always be! This work is my passion, and you can taste and feel the difference in these carefully crafted products. Soil to soul. So when you take the remedy home, you are holding more than herbs - you are holding gratitude, earth, sunlight, breath, memory and every quiet blessing that made this medicine possible.
May all that is offered here be a prayer. I humbly devote myself to the plant path of sharing herbal medicines, nourishing postpartum services, and ceremonial spaces that feed the wholeness of the Earth and humanity.
Love, Earth
